The New City Centre for Justice and Mercy

The Gospel Does Not Let Us Stand Idly By

The New City Centre for Justice and Mercy seeks to overflow God’s undue grace, kindness, mercy, generosity, and compassion in Christ to the mercy and justice needs in our city and beyond. The New City Centre for Justice and Mercy encourages, teaches, and trains the church to embrace her identity as a servant community–to cheerfully and sacrificially offer her talents, time, treasures, talk, and touch for the good of our city and beyond.

As we embark on our journey as a church plant, we are pleased to be vested into three initiatives thus far.

ESL

Join us as we engage international students and newcomers to Canada through ESL. We welcome volunteers with a heart to show the love of Christ and converse with our students. We meet every Sunday, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the church building, downstairs. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Colin Brewster.

CAP Money Course

We are partnered with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Canada. CAP Canada partners with local churches to relieve the problem of debt. You can learn more about CAP here.

Love A Village

Love A Village (LAV) is a non-profit organization that works to relieve the effects of poverty and develop community capacity through a collaborative community-based model in Africa. LAV’s work is a response to the message of the Bible that “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and that those who trust and love Him will “love (our) neighbours” (Matthew 22:39). More specifically, LAV reflect the priority the Bible places on serving the poor in passages such as James 1:27, “religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.” As the name suggests, LAV address needs one village at a time. LAV makes a long-term commitment in each situation, in order to develop solutions that will have a lasting sustainable impact. LAV works with local leaders uncovering resources and empowering Malawian friends to change their communities as God leads.

Men Ending Trafficking

Men Ending Trafficking‘s mission is to educate, support and mobilize the men of the church in the GTA to stand against commercial sexual exploitation in all its forms, working together with community leaders, law enforcement, educators and the general public to help end human trafficking in Canada.

I’m interested in upcoming New City Centre for Justice and Mercy initiatives.
